After watching How I Met Your Mother DVD sale, I don’t know why does the future Ted refer to his friends as Uncle/Aunt? I thought Ted was only friends with them. Is one of them related to him?
A1: Many times, people consider good friends to be like family to them, and so they treat friends like brothers or sisters. Using terms like "Uncle" and "Aunt" doesn't necessarily mean they are related.
